研究興趣:

  1. 新穎致癌基因TIAM2之功能研究及其致癌機制之探討。TIAM2是一個非常新穎的基因但是相關的細胞內功能性分析報導仍付之厥如。我們的研究結果發現TIAM2是一個腦部特有的表現蛋白,而且僅表現在神經元細胞。重要的是87%肝癌組織都可檢測到異位性表現的TIAM2蛋白,因此TIAM2和癌症生成的確有顯著相關性。利用細胞及小鼠動物模式,證實了TIAM2大量表現不但增加細胞生長速率,TIAM2更會使低轉移性細胞株轉化成高侵入性轉移性細胞株。我們利用表現人類TIAM2S的轉置基因(TIAM2S-TG)小鼠發現TIAM2S-TG顯示出比野生型小鼠高得多的血清素量。而且老化的TIAM2S-TG小鼠在多重器官出現高度發炎的現象,甚至自然發展出大腸直腸癌。由於血清素影響免疫力,導致慢性發炎,且血清素調節失常引發人類發炎症性腸道症,我們將利用TIAM2S-TG小鼠作為模型來進一步探討TIAM2S介導癌化的機制。此外在腦內TIAM2S的功能性研究,日前我們的研究率先證實TIAM2S在神經細胞中為一個新穎的血清素調解因子,並參與大腦塑化和調解運動行為。
  2. 人類第九纖維母細胞生長因子基因表現之調控機制。人類第九纖維母細胞生長因子(FGF9)是一個高度保留在各個物種且具有促進多種細胞生長的基因。研究顯示FGF9在胚胎發育、器官形成、性別發展和維持生命機能上可能扮演重要角色。本實驗室的主題是探討FGF9基因表現再各層級之調控機制及其在性別發育上所扮演角色。
  3. 生物資訊學。本實驗室希望有系統的朝向生物資訊學教育推廣、研究發展、及服務等方面努力。目前的研究方向是研究基因體的結構性多行性(CNV)分佈及其在人類疾病的影響、及發展癌症基因體醫學相關之資料庫(TAG)等。
