研究興趣:

血管新生(Angiogenesis)與胚胎的發育、傷口的癒合、和女性的月經週期等生理過程有關。這整個血管新生的過程會受到血管新生抑制與促進劑之間劑量的抗衡所調控當這個蹺蹺板關係失去控制,將會導致許多病變如腫瘤的生長與蔓延。自1972年以來,雖然有許多的臨床前實驗證明血管新生和惡性腫瘤的發生和轉移有著密不可分的關係,但截至目前為止只有幾種抗血管新生的藥物上市,最大原因是因為科學家對於這些藥物如何抑制血管新生之抑制機轉不清楚,就傖促進入人類臨床實驗;此外也發現不當的使用血管新生抑制療法反而具有促成腫瘤惡性度的增加的風險。由此可知探討血管新生的分子機轉及這些抗血管新生藥物的抑制機轉之重要性。目前實驗室的研究方向包括: 1)探討蛋白質磷酸脢表現失調在血管新生與血管性病所扮演的角色。2)口腔癌於近年來雖已躍居十大癌症死因的第五位,但其致病機轉仍不清楚。目前透過與臨床醫師合作,利用細胞與分子生物的技術,探討微環境中浸潤的發炎細胞與血管新生在口腔黏膜上皮細胞癌化所扮演的角色。3)因癌症廣泛被認為是無法癒合的傷口,利用基因轉殖或剔除鼠作皮膚疾病模式來探討該基因於皮膚傷口癒合的角色與作用機轉並進而探討該基因作為藥物開發標的的潛力。
